This is a 1972 Fastback that just happens to be
wearing Mach 1 badging. I am using this Fastback
here as I have had trouble finding a good 1972 Mustang
Fastback that is in original condition and this car
really does look quite good as you can see!This 1972
Mustang Fastback features a 351 Cleveland 4v which has
been mechanically rebuilt to better than new condition.
This engine has just been freshly rebuilt, by the owner
who is a Ford mechanic, bored.030 and balanced with all
new internal parts, 4v quench style heads with 3 angle
valve job, hi-flow valves and converted to run on
unleaded gas. The factory 3-speed transmission has
been removed and replaced with a brand new Tremic3550
5spd including a new flywheel, bell housing, press and
clutch plate, release and pilot bearings. The
clutch has been converted to hydraulic including a new
master cylinder, slave cylinder, lines ect. The
brakes have been rebuilt with new front rotors, calipers
and pads. new master cylinder, new front bearings, new
rear wheel cylinders and brake hose, lines. The
suspension includes new front shocks, traction bars and
subframe connectors. The exhaust system features
new headers, new steel exhaust front to back, new turbo
mufflers. all custom fitted and welded. The rear
end includes new 4.11 gear set and special shim kits.
Beyond this, the car features a new radiator, new
radiator hoses, new thermometer and water pump, new p/s
pump, new gear box, new Edelbrock carburetor and intake
(already tuned) carburetor comes with new needle and jet
kit. new distributor already curved for engine, new oil
pump, new alt, new alt wiring harness, new BF Goodrich
radial T/A's, new fuel pump, new cap and rotor, new
ignition wires, new plugs, new MSD ignition , new fuel
lines, fuel filter, fuel tank removed and boiled, and
more parts that were likely missed.
The body is patch and bondo free with no rust anywhere
except for the trunk floor.
