Overview of
the Car from the owner:
The car was
originally a red 1964 1/2 Mustang Coupe with a 289 v8 with
a Holley 4 barrel and a c4 automatic. An Edelbrock high
rise manifold was later installed, and pistons slightly
bored for a little more oomph. It has red interior with
the deluxe console and dash. It has had 2 owners before
us, and that's how the nasty detailing got on the sides of
the car. After a little research, we also found out that
this was actually the 201st mustang ever made. The car was
white and had minor rust on it when we bought it,
but needed work both inside and out. This started the
restoration.
The
interior was in very good shape, but it was faded.
The interior included the center console. The 289 v8
was perfectly functional, and came with a Holley 4 barrel,
an Edelbrock highrise manifold, and bored pistons (1st
owner) and chrome valve covers already, but was still very
dirty. To make sure there was no rust on the entire car, I
decided to replace most of the car, including the
quarter-panels, bumpers, and door skins. The metal
was replaced and the car was returned to it's original red
color!
